Once you have made contact with us, we will invite each of you separately to a mediation information and assessment meeting or MIAM. At this meeting the mediator will explain the separation mediation process and assess whether mediation is an appropriate way of dealing with your particular issues. This meeting will last 45 to 60 minutes. You will then decide if you are interested in mediation and, if so, which mediators might work best for you. If everyone concerned wants to continue, we will ask you to sign an Agreement to Mediate.
Please note a MIAM certificate / C100 form is requires to be signed by a family mediator before making an application to the family courts for a hearing.
